Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple
From Singapore Hotels & Singapore Lifestyle

Hindus congregate at the Sri Veeramakaliamman Temple dedicated to Kali, Shiva's bloodthirsty consort, who epitomises the struggle against evil. Kali has always been popular in Bengal, the birthplace of the labourers who built this temple in 1881. Images of Kali within the temple show her wearing a garland of skulls and ripping out the insides of her hapless victims, and Kali sharing more peaceful family moments with her sons Ganesh, the elephant god, and Murugan, the child god.
This Shaivite temple is one of the most colourful and bustling in Little India.
