Mee Goreng
From Singapore Hotels & Singapore Lifestyle
|
Mee Goreng has similarities to the Indian Nasi Goreng except that noodles are used instead. Hokkien Mee is fried with a paste made of spices, chillies and dried prawns which give it a distinctive colour. The true blue version should have plenty of peas, good quality minced mutton, scrambled eggs, bean sprouts and some leafy vegetables. The dish should have a slightly charred flavour and look, and you should bite into certain crispy bits of noodles that have been slightly burnt. You can also try two other versions: Bee Hoon Goreng or Kway Teow Goreng.
