Johor Bahru
From Singapore Hotels & Singapore Lifestyle
|
Johor Bahru (commonly known as "JB") is connected to Singapore by the 1038m-long Causeway.
Johor Bahru is almost considered a suburb of Singapore. Thousands of people - Singaporeans included - live there and commute through the crowded Woodlands Immigration Checkpoint, which handles about 50,000 people a day. Singapore residents flock here at weekends and public holidays to take advantage of cheaper grocery and petrol prices (and even stock up on pirated CDs and DVDs - strongly discouraged!)
Unless you have a burning need for any of these items, Johor Bahru doesn't have a great deal to offer as a tourist attraction, but there are a few interesting diversions and some excellent eating options.
