Chinatown Complex Edit page

From Singapore Hotels & Singapore Lifestyle

Chinatown Complex, along Smith Street, houses in its higher floors Food stalls that offer a tempting array of noodle dishes and cooked food. You will also find, in this large, bewildering centre, that the Food, some of the best in the neighbourhood, is much more appealing than the Building.

Alongside Chinatown Complex Food Centre, one of Singapore's best Hawker Centres, there are several good-quality antique shops.

Wet Market

The basement wet market of Chinatown Complex is also worth exploring for the extraordinary ingredients on sale - from live fish and poultry to a range of bean curds and fresh fruit, flowers and vegetables. It is an experience in itself - and not for the sensitive. Brimming with market produce, it's a fun place to explore, though if you're buying you may find communication a bit tricky. In the mornings, this "wet" produce market is always crowded.
