Au Jardin, part of the Les Amis Group, serves superlative French Cuisine and is set amidst tropical foliage of the Singapore Botanic Gardens. In the French language, "Au Jardin" means "in the garden". The restaurant is located in an elegantly restored 1912 black and white bungalow.
Established on 28 November 1998, this restaurant retreat is set amidst the lush greenery of the gardens and was created to resemble "Relais et Chateaux" restaurants found in Europe. Its colonial character has been retained to complement the restaurant's "plantation style" facade. Paintings by renowned local artist Chua Mia Tee and dark wood antique furnishings add a nostalgic touch to Au Jardin's unique charm.
The upper level of the residence comprises of a main dining room and two glass-panelled balconies overlooking the gardens while the bar located on the ground level doubles up as a private dining area for a maximum of 12 guests. There are also tables at the garden terrace for guests wishing to dine al fresco, weather permitting.
Au Jardin, whose culinary team is lead by Resident Chef Galvin Lim, serves contemporary gastronomic French Cuisine, distinctively characterised by delicate flavours and light sauces. Dinner guests may choose from a creative seven-course Degustation Menu or a three-course Table d'Hote Menu. Sunday brunch offers a semi buffet that features authentic Provencal fare and a main course from the set menu. Ladies can enjoy a light and healthy lunch on Fridays with the Ladies Luncheon.
The combination of fine French Cuisine, a selection of some of the world's most exquisite wines and impeccable service amidst the tranquil settings of the Singapore Botanic Gardens, makes Au Jardin the ideal venue for romantic moments as well as grand affairs.
Price tag and setting make it one of Singapore's more exclusive and certainly more romantic restaurants. Set menus for lunch and dinner. Reservations are required.
